Situated in the heart of Europe, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg offers fascinating landscapes, rich historical heritage and modernity. It is a country of rich diversity, which is home to 170 different nationalities. At the same time, it is a place where innovation meets tradition – in business, finance, technology, education and law. Luxembourg embodies the constant development of European law by hosting the EU Parliament and Commission, and of course, the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law (hereafter referred to as “MPI”) was established in the fall of 2012 and comprises two departments at present – the Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution and the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law. The MPI Library, which was also founded in 2012, continuously develops its specialised collection and offers its services to a growing number of researchers.
The Max Planck Institute is pleased to host the IALL 37th Annual Course “Law in Luxembourg – where local tradition meets European and international innovation”.
