IALL Scholarships Program 2017

IALL began its scholarship or “bursary” program in 2001. Its key purpose is to provide financial assistance in the form of bursaries to enable law librarians to attend the Association’s Annual Course.

IALL Regular bursaries and Members-only bursaries

This year IALL is again offering law librarians THREE Regular Bursaries of up to US$2,000 each by competition. These are available to both Individual IALL members and non-members. Full information and an application form is available online.

The Association is also offering law librarians FOUR Members-Only Bursaries of up to US$2,000 each by competition. These are only available to IALL Individual members who have been dues paying members for the current year and the two immediately preceding years. Full information and an application form is available online.

The closing date deadline for applications for both types of conference bursary is Saturday 22nd July 2017.

New IALL Stipend Awards

In addition this year IALL is delighted to offer FOUR new Stipend Awards of up to US$500 each to specifically cover the cost of an international visa and/or reciprocity fees in order to enable a current IALL member to attend the IALL Conference.

Due to the cosmopolitan nature of the Association, the Board is aware that many IALL members face financial constraints on attending the IALL Annual Conference. However it has become clear from talking to members that some could potentially attend the conference if they just had a small “top up” or supplement to their own funds. An award of a small stipend of up to US$500 to enable members to pay for an international visa and/or reciprocity fees can sometimes make the crucial difference.

This is a new trail pilot program to benefit current IALL members. Full details about these new Stipend Awards and an application form are now available on the IALL website.  Closing date deadline for applications for the Stipend Awards is Saturday 22nd July 2017.
