– AGRA
Morning transfer
to the railways stat ion in time for the Shatabdi Express to
Agra. On arrival in
Agra transfer to the hotel.
On the right bank of the River Yamuna, Agra reigns
over a glorious past created by warriors as skilled in art and architecture as
they were on the bat t lefield. The city’s historical
origins before the Mughal conquest are dim and it was
practically founded by the Mughal Emperor Babur. To the lover of art and to the traveler seeking the
wonders of I ndia,
Agra
is the goal of a pilgrimage, its shrines being the Taj
Mahal and Agra Fort . You
will be taken to visit the Taj Mahal,

Agra Fort and the tomb of Itimad-ud-daulah. Overnight at the hotel.

0 3 : AGRA
– JAIPUR VIA FATHEPUR SIKRI
Morning, leave for Jaipur
by surface enroute visiting Fatehpur
Sikri built by Emperor Akbar
in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful
building including the Jama Masjid.
Tomb of Chishti, Panch Mahal and other palaces.
On arrival in Jaipur check in to
the hotel. Built by Sawai Jai Singh, the cit y
of Jaipur is amongst the first of I ndia’s planned cities. The ancient heart of the
Pink
City
still beats in its fairy tale palaces; rugged fortresses perched on barren
hills and broad avenues. Jaipur has a timeless appeal
in its colourful bazaars that delights for its
Rajasthan handlooms and trinkets. Beaut ifully laid out gardens and parks, at t ract
ive monuments and marvelous heritage hotels, once the
residence of Maharajas, are worth admiration that makes a t rip to the pink

Day 0 4 : JAIPUR – DELHI
Morning depart for an excursion to
the Amber Fort , the ancient capital of the state
until 1728. Visit the Jagmandir or the hall of
victory glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal and
temple of
Kali.
Ascend on elephant back, the hill on which the Fort is situated. Later drive
for
Delhi. On arrival transfer to city or to the
International airport to board flight for onward destination.

AURANGABAD
This afternoon fly to
Aurangabad,
founded in 1610 by Malik Ambar
– an Abyssinian slave who became the Prime Minister to the King of Ahmednagar. The city was originally known as Khadke and was later changed to
Aurangabad
in honor of Aurangzeb – the last great Mughal emperor.
Aurangabad
is located in the heart of the state of
Maharashtra
and is an ideal location for organizing visits to the world- famous rock-cut
temples of
Ajanta
and Ellora.

AURANGABAD
Full day excursion to
Ellora
Caves (closed on Tuesdays) – another World Heritage Site. Ajanta and its wondrous cave temples are cut into the rocky
sides of a dramatic crescent -shaped gorge, at the head of which is a waterfall
that drops over the mountain rim in a series of seven steps to a pool far below
– the Saptakund. They cover a span of 800 years
where, under the royal patronage of
ruling
dynasties, professional artists
helped Buddhist monks to create magnificent murals narrating the story of
Buddha in his cycle of incarnations, while
simultaneously creating a
painted record of the panorama of life in ancient
India.
Etched and painted in mineral dyes, the paintings
have a languorous stylized beauty and magical
eloquence. Overnight at hotel.

0 3 : AURANGABAD
- MUMBAI
Today
you enjoy a full-day visit to the
Ajanta
Caves
(closed on Mondays), older than those at Ellora and dating back to 200 BC – 650 AD. These caves consist of 24
monasteries and five temples, hewn out of solid rock. Their wall paintings and frescoes have a beautiful flow of line and a wealth of color; the walls tell the
life story of Buddha, as well as mirror the culture of
that period. Later
transfer to the airport for your flight back to Mumbai.

Periyar,
which are the usual way of touring the wildlife sanctuary. Overnight

0 3 : PERIYAR – KUMARAKOM
Morning visit to the Periyar
wildlife sanctuary (185 kms/ 4 hours) , which is one of the most important and frequently visited in India. A pleasant
escape from the rigors of India travel, a nice
place to cruise on the lake, and an opportunity to see some wildlife as well as
enjoy a jungle walk as well seeing spice plantations– Periyar
offers them all. Afternoon drive to Kumarakom.

is on the eastern shore of
Vembanad
Lake,
which is a bird sanctuary. Overnight at the

After breakfast , explore this exotic destination, which is famous not only for the resort where

plays host to a variety of migratory birds and to

Afternoon transfer to the boat for a
cruise through many canals and waterways up to Alleppey.
The backwater cruise in a country boat is the best
way to explore the villages and rural life. In Alleppey
you will be taken aboard your floating houseboat , a
different boat with a bedroom and en-suite rest room for your comfort . Enjoy
unlimited surfing on backwaters, sip a coconut , get disturbed by only the
chirping of birds and occasional ripples in water and savor mouth watering
delicacies prepared in front of you by your Kitchen crew. Spend the night on
board the houseboat . Overnight on
