IALL Scholarships Program 2018

IALL began its scholarship or “bursary” program in 2001. Its key purpose is to provide financial assistance in the form of bursaries and stipends to enable law librarians to attend the IALL Annual Course. This year the 37th IALL Annual Course will be held in Luxembourg between Sunday 30th September and Wednesday 3rd October 2018 and the draft program is now available to view: http://iall.org/annual-conference-2/.

IALL Regular bursaries and Members-Only bursaries

This year IALL is again offering THREE Regular Bursaries of up to US$2,000 each by competition to help law librarians attend the forthcoming IALL Annual Course in Luxembourg. These bursaries are available to both Individual IALL members and non-members. Full information and an application form are online at http://iall.org/scholarship-information/.

The Association is also offering FOUR Members-Only Bursaries of up to US$2,000 each by competition to help law librarians attend the forthcoming IALL Annual Course in Luxembourg. These bursaries are only available to IALL Individual members who have been dues paying members for the current year and the two immediately preceding years. Full information and an application form are online at http://iall.org/scholarship-information/.

The closing date deadline for applications for both types of Annual Course bursary is Monday 14th May 2018.

IALL Stipend Awards

In addition this year IALL is again delighted to offer FOUR Stipend Awards of up to US$500 each to specifically cover the cost of an international visa and/or reciprocity fees in order to enable a current IALL member to attend the IALL Annual Course.

Due to the very international nature of the Association, the Board is aware that many IALL members face financial constraints on attending the IALL Annual Course. However it has become clear from talking to members that some could potentially attend the course if they just had a small “top up” or supplement to their own funds. An award of a small stipend of up to US$500 to enable members to pay for an international visa and/or reciprocity fees can sometimes make the crucial difference.

Full details about these Stipend Awards and an application form are now available on the IALL website at http://iall.org/stipends/.

The closing date deadline for applications for the Stipend Awards is Monday 14th May 2018.
